Experience a day in a life of a "moeche" fisherman on a bragozzo! What is a bragozzo and a moeche you ask? A bragozzo is a type of wooden sailing boat with a flat bottom from the Adriatic Sea often used for fishing and moeche are crabs from the Venice Lagoon fished during their short mutation period. At the start of autumn and spring for only a few short weeks, these crabs lose their shells and are tender and soft - perfect for a mouth-watering fried moeche delicacy!
Come to Giudecca Island and the Venice Lagoon not as tourists but as guests of the great Bognolo Family. A unique experience to live like a real Venetian fisherman transported on an authentic Venetian fishing boat called "Bragozzo Rosa dei Venti".
The Bognolo Family for generations have been fishermen. Andrea, the current head of the family, has 8 children and together they have one of the most important fishing companies and cultivation of moeche in the lagoon. With the Bognolo Family, experience either the unique history of the Venice Lagoon or the adventures with real fishermen of Giudecca Island! This will be unforgettable experience - live like a local with style!
